Cub Scouting is a year-round, family-oriented part of the Scouting America program designed for boys and girls in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Scouts, parents, and leaders work together to achieve the ten purposes of Cub Scouting: Character Development; Spiritual Growth; Good Citizenship; Sportsmanship and Fitness; Family Understanding; Respectful Relationships; Personal Achievement; Friendly Service; Fun and Adventure; and Preparation for Scouts BSA.
Each grade level has its own program "mascot" and its own activity handbook.
Cub Scout Moto: Do your best!
Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
Scouting offers a unique environment for parents and guardians to get actively involved in their child's lives. Cub scouting is not a drop-off program. Parents are expected to stay and help out at scout meetings. Cub scouting in our pack is very family oriented; many activities allow siblings to join in. You will feel the pride in seeing your Cub Scout earn their recognition, and your Cub Scout will feel the same pride when you help out with their den or pack. And together, you are building memories that will last a lifetime. A parent is required to be with your scout at all scout events.
The Pack will have regular Pack Meetings during the school year (September - May) to celebrate Scout achievements and have fun. A variety of Pack activities and special events are held throughout the year, including a few summer events. Den meetings are usually at Pinewood Elementary School.
Dens(small groups based on grade level) will have Den Meetings once or twice a month to work on adventures and advancements.

While fundraising is not always the most glamorous part of scouting it is a great learning tool for the kids to live the scout law by paying their own way, being kind, respectful and learning to become good citizens in the world at large.
We offer low pressure selling opportunities typically during the popcorn selling period typically from September to November each year. We do this by running what is called a show n' sell where parents can sign up for shifts with their child and need only bring a positive attitude, Class A uniform and desire to greet everyone that comes by and hopefully sell some popcorn in the process.
The annual dues for Pack 272 is $255*. You can pay in two equal installments at no extra charge and no Scout is turned away for financial reasons.

Rank Advancements: Earned rank emblems, Adventure belt loops & pins
